Adolescent Psychiatric Services

Alliance has two adolescents units for males and females ages 12 to 17.  The Bridges is our male adolescent unit and Reflections is our female adolescent unit.  The treatment goal is to break the cycle of teenage depression, anger and rebellion through inpatient treatment in a carefully organized, thoroughly supportive environment; a place where consistency is expected and treatment is tailored to each individual. We know that adolescents have unique, psychological and emotional needs, and that they view therapy and treatment differently. An adolescent may be referred by various agencies or individuals such as a parent, physician, hospital, school, youth court or community mental health center.

The structured programs consist of short-term individualized therapy including medication, group, family and recreation therapy. Recreation therapy is an integral part of the overall program and includes arts, crafts, physical fitness and recreational/experiential activities. Our staff works with each adolescent and their school to maintain his or her studies while in treatment. Alliance works with the family or guardian on safe discharge planning that includes follow up communication with referring professionals.
