Medical Detoxification

We know that addiction is a chronic, progressive and often fatal disease.  But we also know it can be identified and treated.  Early intervention can prevent the devastating consequences that multiply as the disease progresses. Sometimes, detoxification is the first step in healing and recovery.

The detoxification unit at Alliance Health Center is managed by a psychiatrist. Medications are carefully chosen and monitored to safely detox the patient for various addictions including alcohol, amphetamines, benzodiazepines or pain medications with minimal discomfort. Our doctors will use Suboxone but for opiate detox only. The length of stay in this unit varies due to many factors, but most people complete the process within five to seven days. In some cases, the patient may be transferred to a dual diagnosis track for several days to gain insight into this complicated disease as well as the mental health issue they may be experiencing.
